Dare Promises To Deliver Four FIFA Standard Stadia By May

Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, has said that there is an ongoing effort to build four football pitches of international standard, adding that they would be completed before middle of the year.

Dare made this revelation on his Twitter handle on the New Year Day.

The minister in August while on a facility tour of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium and the Murtala Square, Kaduna said four stadiums across the country will be upgraded to global standards, using public private partnership initiatives.

The stadiums to receive upgrading are the National Stadium, Lagos; Ahamdu Bello Stadium, Kaduna; Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan and the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

He promised he would work assiduously on the upgrading, management and maintenance of the sporting facilities across the country, with particular attention on the four stadiums.

However, Dare on Wednesday tweeted that the pitches are near completion and would be delivered between April and May.

“Efforts are now ongoing to deliver four football pitches Of FIFA standard soon-probably April/May 2020 with things running smoothly,” he said.
