David Okereke Says He’s Ready To Play Anywhere For Club Brugge

David
Club Brugge of Belgium striker, David Chidozie Okereke is still relishing the pleasure of his return to goals scoring form last weekend, and admitted he is ready to play in any role the coach wants him to just to get time on the pitch, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Okereke did get to play in his team’s 2-2 draw away to SS Lazio of Italy in the UEFA Champions League, but he is still not getting time in his preferred role as a top striker, yet the all-action hitman, who has now scored two goals for Brugge this season, says he has nothing to complain about. Although he could not replicate his scoring form of the past weekend during Tuesday’s match in Rome and his side failed to reach the UCL round of 16 as well as missed out on a consolation spot in the UEFA Europa League, Okereke insisted he is happy with all happening around him. Incidentally, the fellow-Nigerian, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure, who used to outshine him at Brugge, was on the bench for all 90 minutes in the draw with Lazio, just three after he had also been replaced by Okereke in last weekend’s game against Sint-Truiden. The dreadlocks-wearing lad is now giving thanks to Brugge’s coach, Philippe Clement for giving him more game time, which he believes is a sign of the gaffer’s deep level of trust and great confidence in his ability, hence his decision to play any role assigned him by the man in charge. Okereke, who was bought as a striker from Spezia of Italy last year, but is now being deployed by Brugge’s coach as a winger, submitted: “I don’t care where I play. I am a versatile player who can easily switch between positions. The trainer has to decide where is best to play me.”
