Davidson Owumi Resumption As LMC CEO Delays Bet9ja Sponsorship Deal - Olopade By Niyi Busari The Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Marketing Company, Bukola Olopade has thrown more lights on why the sponsorship deal between Bet9ja and the League Management Company (LMC) has not been completed. The former Ogun State Commissioner for Sports in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports said the delay was due to the foot dragging on resumption of Davidson Owumi as the CEO of the LMC after almost one year he was named by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Following resignation of Induka Irabor the former CEO of the LMC, Owumi was endorsed by the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick in December 2020 before being confirmed by the federation's Congress in Benin, Edo State in August 2021. Despite this, Owumi has not received letter to resume his duty at the LMC. Nilayo Sports Marketing Company however insisted that until the General Manager of Rangers International resumed office, the sponsorship deal brokered by the company will not be completed. "The sponsorship deal has not been completed because Davidson Owumi has not resumed office as the CEO of LMC. Once that's done, Nilayo Sports Marketing Company who brokered the deal will spring into action and ensure that the deal come to pass." Olopade told BSN Sports. The Chairman of LMC, Shehu Dikko had told newsmen in Abuja that the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League would commence in October, 2021.
