Deputy Governor Pledges Support For Kwara Sports Festival MOC

Ahead of the forthcoming 7th Kwara Sports Festival scheduled to kickstart between January 26th-1st February 2020, the Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi met with the Main Organising Committee led by it's Vice Chairman, Alhaji Hameed Adio.

Alabi commended the MOC for working round the clock in ensuring Kwara held it first festival since 2005 and charged the members to set a good standard for it's citizens in order to restore Kwara lost glory in sports.

The Sports loving deputy governor stated the need to not only engage the youths but to also educate them right from the grassroots level to help them reach stardom.

Alabi advised the MOC to be sincere and upwards while carrying out their various activities during and after the games which would engage the youths rapidly to stay away from all forms of drug addiction and social vices.

The Deputy Governor, who represented Kwara in handball during the 70's, restated the state government commitments to revamp all sectors and gave assurance that the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's led government will offer total support for the successful hosting of forthcoming festival and others.

While reacting to the deputy governor's address, the MOC thanked him for supporting, endorsing and also pledging his support for the festival and assured of staging an itch free championship that would help in the production of new generation of sports men and women.

Hameed Adio, emphasized on the need to bring key stakeholders on board in their quest for the task ahead and stressed the need to help divert the attention of the youths away from social vices towards productive ventures.

On his part, the State Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, applauded the Deputy Governor for hosting the MOC and highlighted the aims and objectives of the festival which includes grassroot talent hunt, fostering the unity among the sixteen local governments and also in preparation for the forth coming National Sports Festival tagged "Edo 2020" in March.

Other Members of the MOC are Mrs Sarah Esan, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, Coach Bola Mogaji, Coach Ibrahim Alarape, Chief Mrs Olaoye Abimbola amongst others.
