Desser Wishes To See Dutch Eredivisie Completed

Despite leading the top scorers chat in the Dutch Eredivisie, newly invited Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Cyril Dessers has insisted that the league season must be concluded.

Just any other football leagues around the world, Dutch league has been on suspension for the past a month in order to curb the spread of corona virus in Netherlands, BSN Reports.

The Heracles Almelo’ striker is the joint top scorer in the league along with Feyenoord’s Steven Berghuis with 15 goals.

He believed that there will be a clause to his name if the league ended halfway.

“If the competition would stop now, I would be a top scorer, I know. I would be a quiz question forever.

But there would also be an asterisk forever after my name, because the season is not finished. That would be a shame," Dessers told Belgium news outlet Het Nieuwsblad via voetbalprimeur.

Dessers was among the players invited for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone before the outbreak of corona virus.
