Dessers Nets 10th Goal Of Season As Feyenoord Crash Out Of Dutch Cup

Nigeria International Cyriel Dessers was on target for Feyenoord but it was not enough as they lost 2-1 away to FC Twente after extra-time, in the second round of the Dutch Cup on Wednesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Dessers has now scored 10 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for Feyenoord who he joined on loan from Genk. Dessers opened scoring at 47th minutes to set the stage for what would have been a routine win in the KNVB Beker. But that lead was punctured when Twente’s right-back Giovanni Troupée restore parity in the 79th minutes. With no winners in Normal Time, the match moved into Extra-Time and penalties beckoned. Then with few minutes left, 19-year old Costa Rican striker Manfred Ugalde sealed the win for Twente. Dessers may have to focus on the Dutch League as well as the Europa Conference league for silverware this season.
