Diamond League: Okagbare finishes 5th, as Amusan disqualified

The dream of Nigeria's track duo of Blessing Okagbare and Tobi Amusan to clinch $50,000 attached to Brussels Diamond League final has become a mirage.

BSN Sports reports that Amusan a 100 meters hurdle star has a splendid outing at the just concluded African Games while Okagbare has a games to forget due to her disqualification in the semi final of the women 100 meters.

Okagbare finished 5th in Brusels with a time of 11.24s, Great Britain's Dina Asher Smith won the race with a time 10.88.

Jamaica Fraser Pryce finished second with a time 10.95s, while Ivorian Marie Ta Lou ended in third position.

Amusan was disqualified in the women 100 meters hurdle final for a false start.

Amusan and Okagbare will have opportunity to redeem themselves when Athletic Championship begins in Doha later in the month.
