By Admin
Presidential panel investigating the alleged diversion of fund in the Nations football has stated unequivocally that they would not hesitate to call for the arrest of some top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation and the chairman of the League Management Company, (LMC) Alhaji Shehu Dikko if they refuse to appear before them after the Nations cup qualifiers against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
This much was disclosed by the Chairman of the panel, Obono Obla to www.bsnsports.com.ng. He maintained that the panel has shown enough understanding by accepting the flimsy excuses given for not appearing last week.
He explained that there are various modes of operations in carrying out their investigation while assuring that no one will be spared in the investigation as long as the person’s name is mentioned in a petition.
"We have shown enough understanding by accepting their excuses but all invited NFF officials must appear before the panel after the Nation's cup qualifiers against South Africa.
"If they fail to appear before the panel, then we may be forced to arrest them."
Obla noted that though, the supposed president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick was not among those invited, he maintained that he is one of those fingered in their current investigation and so is not exonerated.
"No, Amaju Pinnick is not one of those invited but if his name is mentioned then, the invitation will be extended to him." He concluded.
