Dilichukwu parleys new FCT SWAN Leaders, sure of brighter future By Ikenna Okonkwo Director of Sports in the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma has expressed optimism that the newly elected officials of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT chapter have what it takes to represent full interest of its members in Abuja. Dilichukwu who spoke when she received Comrade Ndubueze Chidoka-led Excos in her office commended the professional association for ensuring peaceful conduct of their election. She however assured of the readiness of Federal Capital Territory Administration to partner SWAN in all its sports development programmes adding; “I thank God for the crop of persons in the new SWAN Excos. All of you are well-known practicing media Professionals not machinery or ‘yahoo yahoo’ practitioners. SWAN should be seen to be doing what they ought to do. We are all promoting sports in the Nation’s capital. Feel free to always call on us anytime, any day. I'm happy you didn't waste time to visit us after your election.” Earlier, SWAN chairman, Comrade Ndubueze Chidoka explained that the visit to FCT Sports Director was to seek more ways of inclusive relationship with the current FCT Administration. Comrade Chidoka who is a veteran on air Personality further hinted; “Our relationship with FCT Administration particularly in sports need to be sustained. We came to familiarise ourselves with your administration The chairman used the opportunity to urge the FCT Sports Director to support Abuja sporting media in their quest to be at the forthcoming 2018 World cup. Executive Members including Vice Chairman Tolulope Oguntimehin, Secretary Ikenna Okonkwo, Assistant Secretary Albert Akota, Treasurer Salifu Abubakar Usman and Financial Secretary Joel Ajayi who were elected last week Thursday inside Abuja National Stadium were part of the courtesy visit.
