Doha 2019: Enekwechi finishes 8th in Shot Put final

The hope of Team Nigeria securing a medal in the Shot Put was dashed on Saturday as medal hopeful Chukwuebuka Enekwechi finished in 8th position in final of the event, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports reports that Enekwechi qualified for the final on Friday after throwing his personal best in the semifinal and qualified for the final.

But on Saturday, he threw 21.18m to place last wight (8) on the final table .

The throws was a big improvement compared to the last edition in London 2017, where he failed to make it to the final.

The US based Nigerian athletes has now become the first Nigeria male to make it to the final of any major events.
