Don’t write-off Eagles based on friendly matches – Sanusi
The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has appealed to Nigerian football fans not to write-off the Super Eagles based on their recent friendly matches.
The last two pre-World Cup friendly matches didn’t favour the Eagles as they were beaten 2-1 by England and 1-0 by Czech Republic yesterday in Austria.
Speaking to BSN Sports, Sanusi said despite the defeats, the team benefitted from the matches.
He said the coaches needed the matches to further examine the team before the World Cup.
According to him, Rohr will now use the remaining days to work on the mistakes that cost the Eagles victories in the matches against England and Czech.
“I know Nigerians don’t like to see their team lose any match but they shouldn’t use the matches to judge or write off the Super Eagles.
“NFF organised the matches for the technical crew to test the players’ readiness for the World Cup.
“The coach will now work on the lapses in the team. We are still confident that the Eagles will do the country proud in Russia,” he assured.
