D'Tigers to face Benin Republic in last tune up game

D'Tigers will face Benin Republic on Wednesday in tune up game as part of preparations for the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers for men.
The game will hold at the newly renovated Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos at 6pm.
The game is the third the team will be playing after their double leg encounter with Cote d'Ivoire In Abidjan.
Head coach of the team, Alex Nwora said the last game will afford the coaching crew the opportunity to perfect their strategies and have a better understanding of some of the players coming to the team for the first time.
"This game could not have come at a better time than this. It will give us the opportunity to try new things in a game situation."
According to him, getting a result against Benin Republic will give his team the winning mentality and confidence going into their first competitive game.
"We are not going to underrate our opponents because getting a victory is very important to us too. "
He praised the Nigeria Basketball Federation for deeming it thoughtful to give the team the best of preparations for the qualifiers.
"Things are improving and we are so happy about this. Even when we were preparing for the Afrobasket in 2017, we never had it this good. We are so excited about their plans and we hope to repay their investment in the team with some quality performances."
The team will continue it's training camp behind close doors while a media parley is being planned for Thursday.
