D'Tigers picks Olympic ticket

Nigeria's D'Tigers on Sunday afternoon secured its passage into the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games after edging the host of 2019 FIBA men's World Cup, China in the classification match 86-73, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

BSN reports that the Nigeria side need to beat China to qualify automatically as one of Africa representative after Tunisia defeated Angola.

D'Tigers faced a lot of pressure from the home fans in Guangzhou as China were been cheer on by numerous fans.

It was the host that took early lead in the first quarter before the Nigeria side rallied back and came back stronger in the game .

China pressed the Africa side harder the 3rd and last quarter but was unable to prevent the outcome that stood at 86-73 in favour of the Nigerians.

Victory for Nigeria means Tunisia will have to go through Africa qualifying process slated for Cote d'Ivoire in November.
