Eagles goalie okoye market value soars again, as troost-ekong drops

Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye’s market value has increased by as much as 25% in the latest update released by Transfermarket Wednesday. The Sparta Rotterdam of Holland number one goalkeeper is now worth €750,000,an increase of €150,000 from his last market value released in January this year, BSNSports.com.ng gathered. The former Fortuna Dusseldorf 11 of Germany player has had his market value soaring since he joined Dutch Eredivise side, Sparta Rotterdam last summer and the Nigerian international goalkeeper has kept six clean sheets in 19 games so far this term. From a market value of just €150,000 when he was in the third tier of German football at the end of last season, the Nigerian’s value rose geometrically to €600,000 in January and now €750,000 less than 70 days later. While it was positive for Okoye, the reverse is the case for Nigeria’s assistant captain, Williams Troost-Ekong whose value dropped by €200,000.The former Udinese of Italy player who now plies his trade in the Skybet Championship in England with Watford is now valued at €3m. Troost-Ekong has featured 24 times in all competitions for the Hornets so far this term, scoring once. The Nigerian’s compatriots at the club, Isaac Success and Tom Dele-Bashiru also have their market values updated. While Success, the former Nigeria FIFA U-17 World Cup star expectedly had his value plummet from €2m to €1.8m because he has been inactive due to injury for one year until last weekend when he made a cameo return to competitive football action, Dele-Bashiru, a former Nigeria U-20 star has also been inactive since he featured for 37 minutes in the Hornets’ 1-0 loss to Reading at the Madejski stadium and his market value of €900,000 has remained unchanged. Also unchanged is Super Eagles right wing back, Tyrone Ebuehi who is still valued at €900,000.Ebuehi plays for Dutch Eredivise side, FC Twente and he has been an ever regular in the team, starting all 24 games he has featured in so far this term. Meanwhile, former Nigeria captain, Mikel Obi’s value also dropped albeit the former Chelsea defensive midfielder has been active for his Skybet Championship side. Stoke City. He has featured in 30 games for the Potters in all competitions so far this term at the age of 34.
