Super Eagles and Mainz 05 striker, Taiwo Awoniyi regained consciousness after his head collision with Augsburg defender, Felix Uduokhai led to his fall awkwardly on the pitch. He was stretched off the pitch and rushed to hospital where he spoke after recovering, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Mainz 05 lost the German Bundesliga match-day 31 to Augsburg with an early goal from Niederlechsner.

Awoniyi who has made three starts for the German side was replaced in the 23rd minute with Austrian striker, Karim Onisiwo following his serious injury.

In Turkey, Anthony Nwakaeme opened scoring as Trabzonspor recorded a 3-1 away win against Goztepe in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Friday.

Nwakaeme gave the visitors the lead in the 16th minute nodding home Joao Pereira’s cross.

Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Ekuban and Abdulkadir Omur scored the other goals for Trabzonspor, while Alpaslan Ozturk was on target for the home team.

Nwakaeme, who was replaced by Badou N’Diaye in the 67th minute has now scored 11 goals in 26 league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.

Also, In Spain, Oghenekaro Etebo was in action for 90 minutes as Getafe lost 2-1 against Ramon Azeez’s Granada.

Azeez however spent the entire duration of the game on the bench.

David Timor gave Getafe the lead in the 20th minute, while Carlos Fernandez struck twice in the second half to hand the hosts maximum points in the game.

Etebo, who was booked in the 61st minute has made seven league appearances for Getafe this season.

Azeez has scored twice in 17 league outings for Granada.

In the Segunda Division, former Golden Eaglets captain Kelechi Nwakali was benched for 90 minutes in Huesca’s 3-1 away win at Malaga.

Nwakali is yet to make an appearance for Huesca this season.

In Sweden Allsvenskan, the 2019 Sweden young player of the year, Alhassan Yusuf continued to impress in the Swedish Premier League. He earned the highest rating for the losing side, Goteborg FK in a shock 0-1 home loss to IFK Elfsborg.

Abdulrazak Ishaq was capped on Sunday in his debut in the Allsvenskan, IFK Norrkoping opened the season with a 2-1 victory over Kalmar FF. Ishaq was introduced in the 73rd minutes replacing goalscorer and Man Of The Match Sead.
