Easter 2020: Osun United Celebrate with Christians, Pray for Global Peace

As Christians all over the globe celebrate Easter, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ today, the management of Osun United felicitates with Christian faithful in the state, the country and the world at large with a prayer for divine intervention on the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.

The management, in a statement by the Vice President, Mr. Layi Adesiyan on behalf of the President Chief Ademola Adesina enjoins everyone, particularly Christians to reflect on the significance of Easter, which is full of love for mankind, humility and hope in their daily activities.

"Easter is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the innocent Son of God who suffered a brutal crucifixion that was the climax of a short but remarkable life of commitment to love, truth, justice, humility, purity, peace and non-violence."

"As the entire world struggles to contain the spread of Covid-19, hence a low key celebration of Easter this year, we seek divine intervention of the Lord to uproot the tree of coronavirus pandemic in it's entirety and heal those who are victims of the disease," prayed Mr. Adesiyan.

The statement however advises players, technical crew, fans and supporters to be modest in the celebration in line with the directives of health authorities and obey the lockdown order of the government which were aimed to nip the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the bud.
