Eberechi Eze Plays 62 Minutes After Over Five Months Out Injured

Eberechi

Crystal Palace of England midfielder, Eberechi Eze was back in action for The Eagles’ under-23 squad and played 62 minutes of their youth league clash with Blackburn Rovers, almostsix months after he last played a competitive game.

BSNSports.com.ng reports that, while the Nigerian-born duo of left back Tayo Adaramola and striker David Omilabu both also started for Palace, Eze has made his long-awaited return after more than five months out on the sidelines.

However, the former England under-21 international could not save his side from falling 2-1 in their English Premier League 2 match at Crystal Palace Training Ground on Monday, but it was a personal relief for Eze, who sustained an Achilles injury in training near end of last season.

The initial prognosis after surgery had suggested that he could be out until 2022, but the former Queens Park Rangers of England creative attacking midfielder has made a swift recovery and is already showing some of his peak qualities.

With a view to getting back into top-flight action before the year runs out, Eze has started full training with Palace’s first team ahead of his potential season debut and the game against Blackburn helped him continue working his way back to full match fitness.
