Ebuehi Set To Miss World Cup Playoffs Against Ghana Due To Injury

Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi is facing the possibility of a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury at the weekend in Venezia’s 1-1 draw against Genoa, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Making a return to the squad following his dismissal against Victor Osimhen’s Napoli in the first week of February, Ebuehi replaced Domen Črnigoj at halftime at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo in Venezia. The 26-year-old, however, only lasted thirty minutes before being subbed off due to a knock to his left leg. According to the results of the tests performed on Ebuehi, the Super Eagles defender has a lesion in his left semitendinosus muscle. This indicates that the dynamic fullback could be absent for several weeks, possibly until the end of the international break. Ebuehi will, by implication, miss the two-legged playoffs against the Black Stars scheduled for March 25, in Ghana, and March 29, in Nigeria.
