Edo
Edo 2020: FCT Handball Coach Satisfied With Draw Against Team Lagos By Omolagba Oluwayemi Following his team's draw against the Lagos handball team, coach Bala Mohammed, head coach, FCT handball team, has expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance especially after coming from six goals behind to play a 25-25 draw against their Lagos counterparts, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Coach Bala Yusuf while speaking with our correspondence also made it clear that no team in the event can be underrated as all teams parade league players which puts them all in the position to fight for medals "I'm not disappointed with the result of the game, rather I'm grateful to God. Lagos side is a good side, there is no two way about that and they have fantastic players too. We are league rivals so I'm not surprised from what I see it's just unfortunate that some mistakes were made by my team too which they capitalised on in the second half, I think that's what really happened." "We'll definitely go back to the drawing board, try to check the lapses that happened during the first match and see how we can improve on them also what worked for us in the game as well," he said about the way forward for his team after the draw. "The game of handball is dynamic sometimes, we're the big team and also we're the league champions, that's Federal Road Safety Handball team representing team FCT in this event, so other teams are rivals and what we expected of them is what we've seen," ha added. "It's everybody's desire to be at the top, and it also the desire of those at the top to remain there so I think the two teams are good sides and they gave a very good account of themselves against us, and I'm happy at the same time grateful to God for that. Bala Yusuf also believes every team in the event stand equal chances of winning medals at the event and as a result concluded by saying he won't underrate any team. "Everybody here is a good side, I don't always underrate people and as you can see, if we'd underrated Lagos, they would've taken the day. So as far as I'm concerned, the whole team you see here have crops of league players so no one is a pushover."
