FCT Minister Promises Total Support For Athletes As Unity Torch Arrives Abuja

Minister, Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Bello has reiterated his commitment to support the officials and athletes that will represent the nation's capital in the next National Sports Festival, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The Unity Torch which left Aso Villa for Jos, Plateau state on Friday arrived Abuja on Monday morning and was received by the Director, Department of Sports, Mrs Dilichukwu Onyendinma at the City Gate from where the athletes, officials and the press who were with her headed to the minister's office.
Two trucks, four buses and several which conveyed the athletes, officials and staff of Sports Department were accompanied by one ambulance and several police and Road Safety officials to the minister's office.
Waiting to receive the torch with the Minister of State, FCT, Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, the torch which was conveyed from the gate was handed to him in front of his office.
Muhammed Bello was full of smiles after receiving the torch but did not address the media. After hours of waiting, he however, sent his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Austine Elemue to address the media on his behalf.
Speaking to the media, Austine said the adminstration is focused and ready to do everything for the athletes and officials to release money in time so that the close camping of the athletes can start in harness ahead of the National Sports Festival billed for Edo state.
