  Edo 2020: Kogi, Enugu, 3 Others Yet To Win Medal By Niyi Busari Despite giving forty million naira (N40m) to Federal Government as financial assistance to pay the host, Edo State, Kogi State is yet to win any medal in the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020. Benue, Enugu, Jigawa, Kogi and Taraba are the five states that are still hoping to record their first medal. Following Edo government insisting that the Federal Government should come to their aid to help relieve the financial burden, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello gave the sum of Forty Million naira to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare. Meanwhile, reports emanating from the camp of Kogi State athletes is that they're are struggling to win medal due to poor welfare as each athlete receives one thousand naira per day. Team Delta are poised to retain their champions status topping the medals table with 47 gold, 37silver and 34 bronze, Edo State are second with 121 medals consisting of 39 gold, 43 silver and 39 bronze Medals. Bayelsa, Rivers and Lagos completed the top 5 on the medals table.
