The light crisis has led to stoppage of water supply where occupants are subjected to comb everywhere in search of water to bath and wash cloths.
When our correspondence visited Hall 3, Aminu Kano Hall, on Tuesday morning, athletes who had just concluded their training were seen in a long queue struggling to fetch water for bathing and washing of training kits. Despite the struggle, some were disappointed not get water as they lacked the patience to wait for one hour before it gets their turn. And as at 1pm, there was no light nor water.
Visiting the Food Court (Meal Center) our correspondence discovered that the struggle for food continues even with their meal tickets in their hands. To get food, one needs to outmuscle hundreds of athletes before gaining access to submission of ticket to the food vendor.
To forestall athletes going through these stress, each state paid Fifteen thousand naira (N15,00) for accommodation and feeding for each athlete and official per day.
