Edo IDPs Hail CSED over learn play sports initiatives

Residents of Edo Internally Displaced
Persons (IDP) in Uhogua Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have commended the magnanimity of the entire management of Community Sports Educational Development (CSED) initiatives for bringing sports activities back to the camp.


In a chat with journalists at the end of the four days 'Learn and Play' sporting programme at the camp, one of the beneficiary of the event Sule Martha, said she was happy taking part in the programme, adding that the entire residents are so glad participating in a such a laudable sporting programme which will help thousands of young boys and girls in this Christian home for the needy to discover their talents in sports.

In her words, I must confess that we have never had it so good, what we have learnt in this programme would go a long way in helping to know our area of specialty in We cannot thank the organizers enough, this programme have really touch our lives it has made us to feel that we are human beings living not rejected because of our situation."


Meanwhile, the national coordinator of CSED, Edema Fuludu, expressed happiness on the turn out and response of the IDP community, adding that CSED was totally commitment to ensuring that there is continuity in the programme, stressing that CSED believes so much in the slogan of live and let live, that want they have come here to do is to teach them the basis.

The former Super Eagles winger said:

"I know that majority of us enjoyed the Learn and Play sports programme that started four days ago in this place, and i also know that some us want the programme to continue. Look i want to assure you that this is just the beginning. We have a lot of good things to share with you particularly those of you that have are gifted in one sports or the other. We have discovered would be national and world champions talents in this place, we have also arranged with the coaches to be coming here once or twice a month to train you on your various sports. I know that many of you would represent your Edo state in the 2020 National Sports Festival and win laurels. So this is the more reason you should take sports seriously because there is nothing sports can not do and the world will know you with what you how to do best."


At the end of the programme, a football match was organized for the children as a way of appraisal but surprisingly, the two teams gave good accounts of themselves displaying good football artistry.
Many sports personalities also graced the event.
