  Edo Standstill For National Sports Festival Opening ceremony By Admin As the national Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020 officially enters Day 4 today, participants in their hundreds are gearing up for the official opening ceremony. The ceremony will take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin city, the Edo state capital, where invited guests, athletes and officials of all participating States will gather to witness the official declaration of the Games. The venue has since worn a new and attractive look. A large number of security men are present at the stadium to tightened and beef up the security alertness particularly at the entrance which will strictly be through customized tags for accredited athletes and officials including Journalists. Sporting actions had been going on at various centers including swimming, tennis, badminton, squash and combat sports among others while some events will not start until Wednesday and Thursday this week. Games like swimming, Cycling, Judo have produced many medals for states to climb to the top of the medals table, though, there's no official medals table available to media yet. The weather has been hot thereby giving water hawkers a privilege to make good sales, selling a satchet of water N20, doubling the original price at the stadium and at the University of Benin where events are holding. Several states including Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers, Lagos have been sweeping medals in various games.
