EFCC Detains NFF Chief Accountant Grills Shehu Dikko, Sanusi

The Nigeria anti-graft agency Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday grilled the Federation's Secretary General, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and 2nd vice-president, Shehu Dikko over allegations of gross financial recklessness, BSNSports.com.ng understands.

The two NFF chieftains were invited to their Lagos zonal office for questioning following alleged monumental misappropriation of funds.

According to report, EFCC has detained the federation's chief accountant, Alhaji Mamza and had reportedly invited CEO of Padmozi Sports marketing, Mike Itemuagbo to their Lagos zonal office for questioning over alleged mismanagement of funds meant for development of the game.

As at the time of filing this report, NFF chief account, Mamza is still in the custody of the Lagos zonal office of the EFCC.

The federation big wigs were invited to clear their names on the alleged mismanagement of FIFA $8.4m 2014 World Cup funds meant for development of football in the grassroots.

Also, four NFF top officials, which include Nff first vice president, Seyi Akinwunmi, second vice presodent, Shehu Dikko, Secretary general Dr Sanusi Mohammed, and Board member Ahmed Yusuf Fresh are to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja in September following release of bench warrant on them issued by the court.

The court invited them to clear their names on alleged mismanagement of funds and failure to disclose their assets.
