EFCC, ICPC Corruption Investigation On NFF Bigwigs Continue Despite Lockdown

Corruption investigations of NFF president Amaju Pinnick and other senior officials are going on despite the Coronavirus Pandemic, according to one of the petitioners, Harrison Jalla.

“The two major anti-graft agencies, EFCC and ICPC, are still doing their work, the NFF officials are being invited for questioning,” said Jalla, who is also president of the players’ union NANF.

“Nothing has changed – the allegations are there, ICPC seized their properties until it is proven otherwise, the anti-corruption agencies are doing their job. Jalla told ScoreNigeria

“At the appropriate time they will face the due course of justice.”

Jalla insisted Pinnick and other top NFF officials have yet to be cleared of corruption charges as erroneously reported by a section of the media.

“These officials have yet to be arraigned by any court of competent jurisdiction, so they cannot be cleared,” he maintained.

“For the SPIP case, they were not before any court, so they could not be said to have been cleared.”

The well-being of players has been one of the issues the NFF have failed to deliver on and Jalla said this is totally unacceptable.

“It’s a trademark of the Amaju Pinnick’s administration not to care about the welfare of the players, they don’t bother what happens to the mainstay of the sport,” he said.

“Besides the U23 team, the various categories of the women’s national teams are still owed backlog of camp allowances and bonuses.

“These are some of the ills we have been fighting against.

“More revenues have come to football during Pinnick’s administration, but what did they invest these revenues in?

“That is why it is crucial to investigate where these monies have gone because you don’t just see where they have gone to.

“We want to really know where the resources meant to develop football are.

“We have fellows who were completely reckless in the handling of finances meant for the development of football.

“This is totally unacceptable.”
