EFCC INVITATION LETTER THROWS NFF INTO DEEP COMMOTION

By Kinsley Ugwu

At last, the reason for Amaju Pinnick's brief and unannounced visit to the glass house on Thursday is now known.

www.bsnsports.com.ng learnt that, he came into the glass house briefly to attend to all the allegations levied against the executive committee by a former board member and chairman of the NFF AUDIT committee, Otunba Dele Ajayi. It took the combined efforts of the NFF president and his two vice presidents, to arrive at the press release dished out Friday morning in response to the Ondo state football association FA chairman, who they have threatened to take to court for wrongful allegations.

Just while they struggle to overcome that setback another letter came in on Friday this time, from the Economic and financial crime commission EFCC, inviting Pinnick and other members of the board, to appear before the commission on Wednesday January 30, to answer charges of monumental misappropriation and misapplication of funds levied against them by Mr James Peters and a former staff of the Glasshouse who until recently was with the protocol department and witnessed the monumental fraud within the football house between 2014 and 2019.
.
A top source who operates from within the glasshouse has not stopped throwing stones provides details on all that transpired on friday.

"At last, the economic and financial crime commission EFCC has finally sent an invitation to the president of the NFF Amaju Melvin Pinnick over allegations of monumental misappropriation in the country's football. The invitation we authoritatively gathered, got to the Secretariat of the Nff on Friday. The invitation was not only to Amaju pinnick but also to all his board members to answer questions bordering on all the petitions received by the antigraft agency. We can report that they have been invited to start appearing at the EFCC from Wednesday next week"

To make matters worst, two former board members and a former staff of the NFF have agreed to stand on the witness box to give evidences against Pinnick and his cohorts. All three persons are expected at the EFFC office from Wednesday next week as the agency carefully looks into all three NFF files filled with over 650 pages of strong allegations ranging from monumental fraud, stealing, diversion of funds, money laundering and more, levied against the Pinnick led board.

It will be recalled that a board member, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh was invited earlier in the week to answer charges brought against him by one Mr Okoye, president and owner of Bimo FC.

Our source reports that in the course of interrogation, Fresh gave the EFCC vital information that has now opened their eyes to what is going on within.

A top official of the anti graft agency according to our source could not believe what he was told and has promised to fully investigate the NFF case as the EFCC is determined more than ever before to get to the root of that matters.
