EFCC Invitation: Investigation Committee Asks NFF for Relevant Records By Niyi Busari Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports) can report that the committee investigating the activities of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF set up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to look into a petition submitted to Economics and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) by former Super Eagles coach James Peter has asked the Amaju Pinnick NFF led board to submit all documents and records on financial related activities to the committee on or before Monday, 6th August 2018. According to a statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the committee urged the board to make available a comprehensive list of all sponsors of the just concluded FIFA 2018 World Cup; all contracts files containing the contractual agreements with sponsors/co-sponsors from 2014-2018. www.bsnsports.com.ng also scooped that all receipts, bank statements, reconciliation statements of all bank accounts maintained by the NFF during the period of 2014-2018 should also be made available. The committee also requested for the all vouchers for the period, a list of signatories to the accounts, all books of accounts of the League Management Company (LMC), list of all funds deposited into account of Financial Derivatives Company Ltd, as well as letters of engagements as consultants from 2014-2018. The letter which was signed by the committee secretary Mr Bryson Ogbopopa Pepple also asked the NFF to come along with the ministerial approval for all the appointments of the alleged companies and other unidentified consultants from 2014-2018 as well as MBT's approval and honourable minister's ratification of the summary decisions of the the MTB on the procurement of the consultants under competitive bidding from 2014-2018. The letter with the titled; "Re: Monumental Stealing and Financial Crimes in the NFF: Request for Related Records, reads: "I am directed to inform you that the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development has inaugurated a committee to investigate a petition to EFCC on the above subject which was forwarded to the ministry for investigation. Consequently, you are requested to avail the committee with the following listed records as applied to you to enable it carry out this national assignment expeditiously. 1) A comprehensive list of all sponsors of the just concluded FIFA 2018 World Cup. 2) All contracts files containing the contractual agreements with sponsors/co-sponsors from 2014-2018. The approved budget for the activity for the same period 3) A list of all Bank accounts maintained by the NFF during the period (2014-18) 4) All Revenue Receipts for the period (2014-18) 5) All bank statements for the period (2014-18) 6) All bank reconciliation statements for the period (2014-18) 7) All AIE's for the period (2014-18) 8) All vouchers for the period (2014-18) 9) A list of signatories to the accounts (2014-18) 10) All books of accounts of the League Management Company (LMC) for the period (2014-18) 11) A list of all funds deposited into account of Financial Derivatives company Ltd (2014-18) 12) Ministerial Approval for the appointments of the alleged companies and other unidentified consultants (2014-18) 13) Letters of engagement as consultants (2014-18) 14) Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) 'No direction' and MTB's approval and Honourable minister's ratification of the summary decisions of the MTB on the procurement of the consultants under competitive bidding (2014-18)." The letter which was sent to the marketing department of the NFF on 1st August 2018 asked the NFF members concerned to appear on Wednesday 8th August 2018. The committee member of the panel comprises of experts from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Sports.
