EFL Cup: Iheanacho rescue Leicester City against Aston Villa

Rejuvenated Nigeria's Super Eagles attacker Kelechi Iheanacho continued his resurgence on Wednesday at the King power as became the cynosure of all eyes in Leicester City 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the EFL Semi final first leg.

The Foxes hosted the Villa in the first leg of the semi final and was bookmakers choice to prevail in the game, BSN Reports

It was never meant to be as the away side seized the control of the game from the blast of the whistle and was able to secure a goalless first half.

And it paid off for them as they opened the scoring through Frederic Gilbert.

The introduction of Nigeria's Iheanacho for Ayoze Perez in the second half changed the face of the game as he netted the equalizer in the 74th minute with an assist from Jamie Vardy.

Iheanacho is expected to be in action when Leicester travel to Villa park for the second leg of the competition in a fortnight.
