Two new players Innocent Bonke and Kingsley Micheal made their debut for Nigeria in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde and contributed their quota to the 1-2 away win. Both players continued to receive applause from stakeholders, fans, and supporters of the team. Former Nigeria international while speaking on a radio interview praised the players and urges players to always be ready when call upon to the national team.
