  Eight Nigerian Referees To Officiate CAF Club Competitions By Niyi Busari No fewer than eight Nigerian referees will be on duty this weekend to take charge of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup games at different match venues across the continent, BSNSports.com.ng reports. In a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the NRA, Kelechi Mejuobi, he explained that four referees will be at the match center in Ouagadougou to direct affairs of the CAF Confederation Cup game between Salitas FC of Burkina Faso and Ashanti Gold of Ghana. The statement reads: "About five members of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, have been appointed to officiate in the Confederation of African Football, CAF, inter club competitions this weekend. "The referees, who are FIFA badged match officials are already on transit to their various match venues for the international assignments. "In one of the CAF Confederation Cup matches, upcoming Abubakar Abdullahi of the Niger State Referees Council will be at the centre of proceedings assisted on the lines by a very experienced Edo state based referee, Efosa Celestine Igudia and Oyo council Abdulmajed Olajide while Joe Ogabor comes in as Fourth Official. The said officials have already touched down at Ougadogu Burkina Faso to handle the Salitas FC of Burkina Faso vs Ashanti Gold of Ghana in the match Komlan Asogbayi of Togo is the Match Commissioner. "In Togo where the home side, Asko De Kara will battle visiting Club D Abidjan of Cote D Ivoire, one of the top rated arbiters in the country, Adebimpe Quadri, of the Lagos State Council, backed on the lines by Peter Ogwu and TJ Digbori of Bauchi and Delta councils respectively will be cynosure of eyes at the match venue, while Bornu State Council member Grema Mohammed is the fourth official.
