Electoral Committee  Announces Guidelines for 2020 FCT Area Council Election

The Electoral Committee for the forthcoming FCT Area councils Election on Monday Abuja announced the guidelines for the elections into the Six Area councils later this month and Early month of March.

While speaking, the Secretary of the Committee of the 2020 FCT Area council elections Mr Andrew Abbah said that the guildelines were in line with yearnings of the FCT football stakeholders.

According to him, “We have taken into careful consideration the yearnings of everyone in the FCT football family for a level-playing field for all.

"Those interested in the various positions available on the Area council will have to purchase forms which will be on sale starting from Monday, Febuary 3rd till Monday, Febuary 10th 2020.

"Endorsement and Returning of nomination forms would now take place between Febuary 12th and 2020.

"Screening of candidates, will take place 13th of Febuary to 15th of Febuary 2030

"While Displaying  release of names of eligible  and unqualified candidates  will take place between Monday Febuary  17th."

He added that: "Appeals against candidates will be entertained latest on 18th-19th febuary 2020.

"Not only that, Appeal committee will seat on 21-22 of febuary 2020 as Appeal committee will take decision on the 24th Febuary 2020.

"The election proper will be hold in the different days in the six Area councils, the date includes; Abaji 26th of Febuary; Kwali 27th febuary; Gwagwalada 28th February; Kuje 29th febuary; Bwari 2nd of March while AMAC election will take place on the 3rd of March 2020."
