Elizabeth Anyanacho Presents Medals To Sport Minister By Uche Dozie Olympics bound Nigeria Taekwando fighter, Elizabeth Ayanacho presented the medals won at the Beirut Open and African Champs, to the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Beirut Open which was at the Stade Nouhad Naufal, in Beirut, Lebanon and the African Champs held in Dakar, Mali happened this month. Anyanacho had won gold at the WT G-2 ranked Beruit Open some days ago, the last preparatory tournament before the Tokyo Olympics. While the 22-year-old finished second winning silver at the African Champs. Elizabeth had defeated the African Champion, Egypt’s Hedaya, at the semi-finals of the African Taekwondo Champs in Dakar a fortnight ago, before narrowly losing to the former world champion, Ruth Gbagbi in the finals of the same event. The starlet called at the minister's office with the medals and a shirt which were presented to the minister. "We are happy with your current performances and we can confidently say that we trust you can deliver a podium performance in Tokyo. We hope to repeat this kind of medal presentation ceremony when the Tokyo games is over.” Sunday Dare said. Anyanacho's participation at the two events were sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.
