Elizabeth Anyanacho Progresses To Africa Taekwondo Championships Final By Uche Dozie Nigeria's sole Olympic Taekwondo fighter, Elizabeth Anyanacho secured her name in the finals of the Africa Taekwondo Championship going in Dakar, Senegal on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng can report. The 22 year-old defeated current African champion and Tokyo bound Hedaya Malek of Egypt 6-5 in semi finals of African TKD Champs. She had lost to Malek in 2019 at the African Games in Rabat. She had overpowered Umurerwa Nagede of Rwanda in the quarterfinals. 24-1. Anyanacho meets former World Champion and Olympic Medalist, Tokyo bound Ruth Gbagbi of Cote D'Ivoire in finals. The student of FUTO becomes the second ever female to qualify for the Olympics in Taekwondo after Princess Dudu at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
