EMEM EDUOK PRESENTS TRAINING BIBS TO FORMER CLUB

Super Eagles and HNK Hadjuk Split of Croatia forward Emem Samuel Eduok has presented two sets of training bibs to his former team Akwa United as a token of appreciation to the team he started his professional career few years ago.

Eduok who previously featured for Dolphins of Port Harcourt, Esperance of Tunisia and Kasimpasa of Turkey, has been training with Akwa United since coming home for Christmas break in Uyo.

Presenting the trainnig kits to the club after Thursday training session at the Nest of Champions, Eduok said, he is delighted at the level of organisation and professionalism in the club since he left some years ago.

"First and foremost, I want to thank God for this opportunity to offer this little support to Akwa United Football club where I started my playing career some years ago.

"The story of my football career will not be complete without that chapter about my stay at Akwa United. I'm delighted to see that this team is growing and the level of organisation and professionalism is impressive.

"I'm in Uyo for the Christmas holiday but I decided to come and join the team to train and I must say that I'm impressed with what I have seen. I'm confident that this team will go places".

Receiving the bibs on behalf of the club, Captain Otobong Effiong commended Emem Eduok for the gesture and wished him well in his exploits in Europe.

"On behalf of Akwa United FC, I wish to sincerely thank you for being a worthy ambassador of Akwa United and for this show of love for your former team. We really appreciate your gift and support to us" said Effiong.

Reacting to the gesture by Edouk, the Chairman of Akwa United Elder Paul Bassey expressed appreciation to the HNK Hadjuk Split of Croatia hit man for not forgetting his former team and described Eduok as a role model.

"We wish to thank you for not forgetting your root, it's the dream of every player playing in the domestic league to make it to Europe but I can say that not all can come back and willingly identify with their former club like this, so we are grateful for what you have done" said Elder Bassey.

Emem Edouk who holds the record as the only player in the history of NPFL to have scored six goals in a single match (Dolphin 6-0 Nembe City), earlier this week also visited MfonAbasi orphanage home at Ikot Okumfang in Abak were he presented food items, clothings, toiletries and cash gift to the orphans.

Eduok has scored 5 goals in sixteen matches for his new club HNK Hadjuk Split in the Croatian topflight league this season.
