Zira Resigns, Walks Out On Club Owners
By NNEKA IKEM
The Secretary General of the Nigeria Women’s Football Club Owners, Chairman and Managers Association Emmanuel Zira has resigned his position as Secretary General.
In a letter written to the Acting Chairman of the NWFL Club Owners and Managers Association dated January 13, 2020, Zira said his position lacked the legitimate rules and statutes backing his position as Secretary General.
“This position is exclusively an elective one and I no longer have the platform or constituency to warrant me holding on to such office as I am no longer the Chairman of Adamawa Queens Football Club, the platform on which I was elected into the office in the first place.
“As an advocate of proper elections needed to be conducted into the board of the Leagues and Club owners Association, I feel that remaining in this position despite a hundred percent endorsement by all clubs at the last AGM is totally wrong and needs to be corrected. Thus, my voluntary resignation.”
