It was skipper Austin Oladapo that broke the deadlock in the 9th minute with a long range effort. Ahli leveled from the penalty spot almost immediately before striker Victor Mbaoma sealed the win just before half time. All the efforts of both side to score more goals in the second stanza proved abortive with host dominating the game comfortably. Enyimba international will play away to Orlando Pirates of South Africa in the match day 2 while Ahli will host ES Setif of Algeria.
