There are indications that Coach Fatai Osho of Enyimba maybe sacked by the club no matter the outcome in Wednesday’s decisive CAF Confederation Cup match against Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
Enyimba are in dire situation going into Wednesday’s match and a source disclosed that the management “is considering sacking the manager” on the premise of poor performances from the team tilt to the full with quality players.
The management, we learnt, is worried that despite having in their ranks some of the best players in the domestic front, the unarguably Nigeria’s most successful team is yet to play to expectation despite being at the group stage of the second tier continental club competition.
“There is a plan like that and I can tell you that for sure,” the source told Daily independent
“Unless there is a change of mind, the coach may not see off the current season no matter what happens tonight (Wednesday) against Orlando Pirates.
“Enyimba are not lacking in quality players but that hasn’t shown in their play, especially on away grounds.
“The management is actually feeling it has to do with the quality of the bench and there is a plan to replace him,” the source noted.
Asked whom the management may engage in the situation that the coach is sacked, the source said it was mainly because of this that the decision hasn’t been taken.
“I think that has not been decided and that may perhaps be the reason Osho is still the coach,” added the source.
Meanwhile, several analysts have questioned the technical ability of the coach who took over from Usman Abdallah, saying Osho has added very little to the team.
