EPL: Eze Solo Goal Secures Maximum Points For Crystal Palace
By Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria born, England Junior international Eberechi Eze, was the star of the show on Saturday at the Selhurt Park as Crystal palace defeated Sheffield United 2-0, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former Queen Park Rangers midfielder started the day on the bench as Jeffery Schlupp scored the opening goal in the 4th minute of the encounter.
There was a blow for Palace before half-time, as Schlupp was forced to withdraw with injury. Eberechi Eze came on as his replacement on the left-hand side.
Eventually, Palace doubled their lead with a stunning goal from Eze.
Picking up the ball inside his own half Eze charged forward, moved away from one defender and then the next, opening up some space on the edge of the penalty area, he took the shot early and stroked into the bottom corner, beyond the reach of Sheffield's goalkeeper Ramsdale’s despairing dive.
It was a confident performance from host who once again demonstrated the potency of their attacking options, and it means a positive start to 2021 in south London.
