They recall that the Cottagers already paid €2.5m for the loan, and would now have to spend €12.5m to sign the player on a permanent deal. Aina made 32 appearances for Fulham this season, being used as a left-back, central defender and right-back. That could have been enough to prove his importance to the club, but with a new budget for the Championship season ahead, they may likely have a second thought.
