EPL: I'm Indebted To Stephen Keshi - Ekong Sampson Adedeji Watford FC of England defender William Troost-Ekong said he is indebited to former Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The Dutch-born Nigerian star made the statement while speaking to Watford's media about his background. Keshi passed away a few years back after leading Nigeria's Super Eagles victory in the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. Ekong said he made his national team bow under the former Hawks of Togo gaffer and he was sad for not being able to say thank you to him before he passed away. "Stephen is someone close to my heart. He was my first manager with the Super Eagles, I made my debut under him and then sadly a few months later he passed away. “I will be indebted to him for the rest of my life, and I feel like I didn’t have the chance to say thank you for that moment because he passed so suddenly," he said. Since making his debut for Super Eagles, Ekong has racked up over 50 caps and attended two major tournaments with the team.
