EPL: Iwobi Excited Achieving Victory Against Arsenal By Sampson Adedeji Nigeria's Super Eagles and Everton FC midfielder, Alex Iwobi is still in cloud nine after he played an active role in Everton FC securing a 2-1 win over his old club Arsenal, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Tofees on Sunday defeated Gunner at the Goodison Park with Iwobi offering an assist for the first goal. While speaking to the club media, Iwobi was excited for Everton securing maximum 9 points against top 3 teams: Leicester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. "It felt great to come away with a victory against my old club Arsenal on Saturday and continue what has been a really positive period for us. "We were desperate to build on our wins against Chelsea and Leicester City and you could see from the 2,000 fans inside Goodison at full-time that it’s a great position we now find ourselves in. Everyone’s buzzing. "Having Evertonians with us again means a lot, too. You could feel their presence on the pitch and they are like the 12th man. They keep us going and we’ve really missed them. "I thought it took a real team performance to help us to our 2-1 win on Saturday. You can see we’re confident and we came up against an Arsenal team that we knew would be an attacking threat. I feel like we defended really well as a team so I’d like to give us credit. "It was great for me to play a part in our opener with the cross that led to the own goal after good pressure in the box from Dom. The equaliser set us back a bit but we did well to retake the lead just before the break thanks to Yerry’s header and that proved enough. "We had to defend in the second half but you can see how resilient we were and how difficult we made it for Arsenal. It was a great team performance. "We defend as a team, defend as an XI and it really helps to have the fans with us urging us on, as well. "For us to achieve nine points from our recent games against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal gives us real confidence and belief that we can do the same against any other team. "I’m happy with my contribution and to be creating chances - and it was a great feeling coming back against my old club – but it’s all about the team performance," he stated.
