EPL: Iwobi Set to Start Against Wolves
Alex Iwobi could be handed a starting shirt for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to sportinglife.ng.
Iwobi who set up Arsenal’s equaliser scored by Alexandre Lacazette against Liverpool last weekend has been tipped to start ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan upfront along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Iwobi’s confidence has impacted positivlely on his game to the delight of Arsenal manager Unai Emery, but the Spanaird still believes the player can do more in front of goal beyond providing assists.
The Super Eagles forward would be heading back to Nigeria after the match to commence preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
Arsenal have a number of injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s match with the latest being Danny Welbeck and Stephan Lichtsteiner who were injured in Thursday’s Europa clash against Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates.
Arsenal have put together a nine-match unbeaten streak in the top flight.
The Gunners lost to Manchester City and Chelsea at the start of the campaign, but Unai Emery’s team have dropped just four points in the league since August 18.
That run of form has left the North London outfit in fifth position in the standings and just six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
