It was a day to forget for Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi as his debut for Everton FC ended in defeat, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

BSN Sports reports that Iwobi joined the Tofees this summer from Arsenal after spending over a decade at the Emirate stadium.

Nigeria youngster started the match at the Villa park against Aston villa on bench with host dominating the game.

The host was already 1-0 up before he was introduced upon his late introduction, he was able to prove himself and seized the control of the game for Everton.

Iwobi proved a constant threat and hit the bar with a low drive before El Ghazi sealed the game for Aston Villa in the 93rd minute of the game.
