EPL: Rodgers Explains Why Iheanacho Was Substituted

By Sampson Adedeji

Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers has explained the reason Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho was substituted in Leicester City surprise defeat to Bournemouth, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Cherries rallied back and thrashed Foxes 4-1after the away side scoring the opener earlier in the game .

Iheanacho who assisted the goal scorer Jamie Vardy for the opening goal was substituted for Praet in the 46th minute.

Rodgers said Iheanacho was not having a good game and that was why he was changed.

" He wasn't having one of his better games,” said Rodgers in his post-match press conference. “The issue for us defensively was on the side of the pitch, because there was a lot of space for Wilf and Youri to cover.

“So we pushed Ayo on, he was playing well, and added an extra midfielder in to help cover, he said.

Before Bournemouth defeat, Iheanacho scored in the back to back games for Leicester City.
