EPL: Watford Captaincy Role Delights Ekong
Sampson Adedeji
After leading the team out for the very first time, Nigeria's Super Eagles and Watford FC defender William Troost-Ekong is delighted with the feat, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
As speculated last week, the Nigeria international was handed the captaincy armband by the club manager Xisco Munoz on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderer.
The Hornets suffered 0-2 home defeat to Wolves but Ekong was one of the star performers despite the defeat.
"Absolute honour to lead the boys out for the first time over the weekend. I Will always do my best for the team," he said.
Ekong joined Watford last summer from the Italia Serie A side Udinese and played active role as they gain promotion to the premier league.
