Oparanozie hails Edo State government over Edo Queen

Following the equal payment implemented by Edo State government between the players of Bendel Insurance and Edo Queen, Nigeria's Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie has hailed the state government for taking such bold step, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN Sports reports that the government through the Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Philip Shuiabu announced on Tuesday that the state will pay the players of both teams equally in the upcoming football season.

France based Nigeria's Super Falcons player, Oparanozie has been in the forefront of the campaign concern the salaries and bonuses of the male and female players.

She further thanked the Edo State government and hope other state will implement same in their different states.

"Edo queens FC equal pay implementation. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Thanks to the Edo state government for doing right by the girls and taking the lead," she wrote.

Oparanozie was part of the Super Falcons team that lost out at the second round of the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup in France.
