ESL: Super League Files Complaint Against UEFA and FIFA By Admin The European Super League has formally filed a complaint against UEFA and FIFA with the highest court in the European Union, the EU Court of Justice’s official Twitter page confirms, BSNSports.com.ng reports. https://twitter.com/EUCourtPress/status/1399272856228356097?s=19 Super League officials claim that UEFA and FIFA are “in violation of EU competition rules” and do not have the authority to prevent the remaining clubs, Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona, from breaking away and avoiding potential sanctions. The case filed with the Court of Justice will reportedly determine if UEFA and FIFA have exclusivity when it comes to the organization of competitions. Both boards have threatened to remove the clubs still involved from both domestic and international competition. FIFA is already conducting a disciplinary investigation of their own. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has hit out against the Super League once again raising his confusion over the Super League’s demands: “For me what is strange is that you publish you are still part of the Super League and then you send a letter applying to play in the Champions League. So you are in Super League but play Champions League. It’s quite hard to understand what they mean. "They should call us, send us a letter, ask for a meeting. They just sent some press releases saying they want to have a dialogue. It’s quite a strange approach." "It’s really hard to understand what they want. If they say Super League exists and nobody prevents them from playing Super League, the three of you can play your Super League. But they say they want to play Champions League as well at the same time." "We are not afraid of those things. If the courts decide one way or another we have to be honest and work for football, which those clubs are not.” Ceferin says he does not know what potential sanctions or discipline the three remaining clubs could face as the ongoing investigation is independent.
