Etebo set for Getafe switch
By Sampson Adedeji
Following his inability to tie down a regular first team shirt action, Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Peter Etebo Oghenekaro is on the verge of joining Spanish La Liga side Getafe on loan from English Championship side Stoke City this january transfer window.
The former Warri Wolves player joined the Potters from the Portuguese side CD Feirense during the summer of 2018 and was amazing for the club before injury slow him down.
The 24-year-old Nigeria midfielder was a prominent player under Nathan Jones but fell out of favour when Micheal O'Neil took charge in November. He recovered from injury but there was a hint that he had not done enough in training to warrant selection.
He had not played for Stoke since limping out of a defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in October and is now understood to be waiting for a visa to complete his move to Spain.
It is yet to be seen if he could be available against Real Madrid on Saturday but Getafe hope he will be involved in the cup against Badalona the following weekend.
Etebo has had an instint in the Spanish La Liga, he played for Las Palmas on loan from Feirense few season back.
