Etebo Thinks About Galatasaray Extension, Not Return To Stoke City

Galatasaray of Turkey midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has confessed that he is not thinking of returning to his parent club, Stoke City of England, s he would rather stay put at his present base in Istanbul, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Although he started his current loan deal on a shaky note with Gala, Etebo has since settled down and making his marks in the Turkish Super Lig, such that the Super Eagles’ battler has admitted he would rather stay put rather than make another return to Stoke. He is enduring his third loan deal outside England, after The Potters, which he joined in 2018, earlier sent him to Las Palmas and Getafe of Spain respectively for the past two seasons, but Etebo also admitted that the most important matter on his mind is how to keep working hard, in order to help Galatasaray stay strong in the Lig. While a number of reports out of England indicated at the start of his week that the former Warri Wolves of Delta State and Feirense of France midfielder is set to return to Stoke in January, amidst speculation that he is not happy with life in Turkey, sources close to him insist that is far from the truth. A follow-up report by Eddie Iseri Ogbemudia of Myron TopClass Sport Agency that manages Etebo’s image rights, disclosed that the dark-skinned lad is staying focused on doing his best with Gala and eventually get a full contract at the end of his loan spell, as he is keen on getting regular playing time. While refuting earlier reports that the 25-year-old is not settled in Istanbul, Ogbemudia added that the Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist is enjoying his time playing under Fatih Terim, who sent him on as a second half substitute in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Hatayspor last Saturday. Etebo has also picked up more appearances since arriving from Stoke, where he dropped down the pecking order and eventually had to make way for former Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi, but he has now appeared in 10 straight matches, including two in qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League.
